A Cheeky Wee Message From Santa!!

So lets face it..we might be 'grown up' now but that doesn't mean we don't want to enjoy the fact that Santa is coming soon!!

So one afternoon me and Bekah decided to do some looking at all the ways Santa can contact us (we know, we know..this makes us sad but don't tell us that you aren't going to go look this all up!?)

The first thing we looked at was the Santa tracker, you can find this by clicking here. The Santa tracker allows you to see which time zone Santa is currently delivering presents in.

We also found a ridiculous number of sites which allow you to make a personalised message from Santa for friends or family. Our obsession with Christmas got the better of us and we proceeded to try out about 10 different sites and send all our friends messages from Santa!!
We've managed to decide on the two sites we think are the best, MagicSanta and PortableNorthPole.
These allow you to create a personalised video complete with pictures to send to anyone you like, and they are really good fun to watch.

Portable North Pole's Santa

Magic Santa's Santa

The final thing we found was in Rebekah's opinion the best yet, and I have to admit it was pretty funny..Rebekah was literally crying with laughter! JibJab's Dancing Elf Machine is brilliant, easy to use and guaranteed to make everyone laugh. You HAVE to try it out!! You are also able to change the background and the way the elf dances...what more can you possibly want!?

Rebekah as a dancing elf!!

So we hope you've enjoyed reading this festive blog post and that you try some of these things out. If you have any cheesy Christmas sites let us know..we would love to try them out too!!

Merry Christmas

Chalk Dip-Dye - "Chalking"

Have you ever wondered if there's an easier way to dip-dye your hair? You know, without the hassle of buying expensive dye and then not liking the end result, wishing you could wash it out straight away? Well, there is! Apparently it's the new "craze" - which meant we had to give it a go :)

We first heard of chalking from a YouTube channel called HeyKayli who gives a couple of demo's on how to chalk your hair. If you want to check that out then click HERE.

All you need is water and chalk - preferably  chalk pastels or soft pastel chalk.
Take a strand of hair and wet it. We wet our hair with a damp/wet cloth but it would be easier to have a spray bottle or wet your whole head in the shower first.
Once the strand is wet you take a piece of your chalk (whatever colour you choose) and rub it on the strand of hair in a downward motion. You don't need to cover the whole strand, just as far up as you want it.
Suggestion: If you want to do more than one colour, start with, say, pink and cover all the strands you want pink and then move on to a different colour, and so on.

When you brush the hair through (it tends to get a little dry at the ends) the chalk fades a little but it's still bright enough to see the colours.
The end result is pretty good! We think curling the hair would be nice as the colours would all blend together but leaving it straight would work too!

The good thing about chalking is that it only takes one wash to come out! So if you don't like it, you don't have to keep it for another two months :)

Anyone else tried chalking? What did you think of it?

Twizzlers & Kool-Aid (From a Scottish Perspective)

Twizzlers
First off, why?
What possesses people to eat these things, it's seriously like eating the smell of soap!

Bekah and I entered into this with an open mind, we were expecting great things from Twizzlers.
We seriously thought they were going to be amazing.
Bekah was all excited that the red ones would be like strawberry liquorice - safe to say they weren’t!
Did we get the wrong type or something? Seriously someone help us out here because these things just aren’t great!
Or do Americans have different taste buds?
Bekah heard they sell them at the theatre / cinema in Americam the packet we had was plastic and the Twizzlers were so sticky we had to peel them off! It made such a racket, surely that must be a total pain when you’re trying to watch a movie?

Kool-Aid
Where do we begin?…Kool-Aid is AMAZING! It’s amazing fun to make, has an amazing taste plus, the colour is pretty amazing too! But seriously, why so much sugar for such a small amount of powder? We were completed confused by this but nonetheless went ahead and poured 1cup (American measurements) of sugar in the jug - we did speak to an American friend of ours who said it’s okay to half the sugar amount.
The amazing part - well to us - is when we lost the powder in the mountain of sugar and had to pour in 8 cups of water. It was honestly a burst of colour when the powder reappeared! It would have been a good picture moment - unfortunately we haven’t cottoned on to the whole “takeyourcameraeverywhereyougo” thing yet.
We bought four flavours: Grape, orange, lemonade and cherry. We’ve only tried grape and orange so far but oh boy! They are good!! To be honest I was expecting them to taste like fruit juice OR diluting juice but it’s more like a melted sweet.

Recommendation…freeze them! A much better flavour, plus if you freeze them in a cool mould then a frozen, flavoury, shape always wins ;)
The thing with Kool-Aid is that you get a teeny-tiny bit hyper. Don’t make them at 8 o’clock at night, when you’re tired and have a 9:30 lecture the next morning - not a good idea!
I don’t think I’d have it as a daily drink but would definitely have them again! They’d be good for parties (for kids parties and those who don’t do drinkies).

We’re unsure if we got the right ones for both these products, the shop we bought them from said they had been imported from America but I guess you can never really tell. We took the twizzlers to our friends house and she said we got the wrong ones…the packet does say “Twizzlers” and they look like twizzlers, hmm I guess we’ll just need to look for more!

Beautiful Bargain

If you know me, you'll know I love a good bargain. As much as I find it so easy to spend £60 in Primark, you still get your money's worth of clothes / shoes / accessories - maybe not the quality but the amount.
I discovered this online shop when reading a post by another blogger who had linked the shop.

Obviously, I had to take a look and I INSTANTLY fell in love!

The shop is called 'Scarlett Hearts', if you want to take a look then click here.
This shop sells cute jewellery at low prices. I love jewellery that looks vintage, cute, small (I'm not a big statement jewellery fan - simply because I'm not very daring with things I wear). This website gives you (well in my opinion) all of those things and more!
I really wanted to share it with you because I think everyone should at least go and check the shop out, and if it's not your style then fair enough!
The jewellery can be given as a gift - I gave one of my best friends a couple of the necklaces because I thought they looked cute and would really suit her - or be bought for yourself (I'm not going to lie - buying things for myself makes me quite satisfied)
Here are the things that I've bought from the site:

Image of Sidewards Pendant
Sidewards Pendant - £3.50

Image of caught up
Caught Up - £3.50 (this one was bought for my friend)

Image of Anchor me down
Anchor Me Down - £3.00 (I bought the silver one for my friend)

Image of Sidewards
Sidewards - £3.00 (matches the necklaces)

Image of Coloured Cross

Coloured Cross - £3.00 (I got this in the blue and white)

So I may have a slight obsession with small crosses, but I thought they were cute!

The delivery time is also great! You can order it, say, on a Tuesday and it could be at your door on the Thursday - it's super quick! You do have to pay £2.50 for postage&packaging BUT it doesn't bring your cost up an awful lot.

Hey there!

Hey everyone :)

So basically, Katherine and I have been planning to do this blog since May 2012. We both read blogs and it was when we were talking about other people's blogs that we both decided we wanted to make blogs of our own. Unsure of how we were going to start our own blogs we thought it would be a cool, fun idea if we had a shared blog.
So here we are! Welcome to our blog! :)
Our blog will be reviews of products we've been trying out, music, fashion, any creative ideas we have, any good movies we recommend, and just life in general.
Now, because we were super unorganised it's now September and this has become a little tricky as Katherine is studying at Abertay University in Dundee and I’ll be studying at Stirling University. Because I’ll be staying at home and Katherine will be moving back to Dundee, we’ll be a good 1h30mins away from each other so organising a blog could be tricky!
Nevertheless! We will keep our posts going and hopefully you'll enjoy them.

Love
Rebekah x
